Society has become so intertwined with social media that is difficult sometimes to see the differences between both. Social media usage has become a huge part of our daily life, and most people would agree that they use social media networks at least once a day. Social media is generally seen as a positive part of our lives, but there is little said about how it hurts people. Social media can promote violence, laziness, chronic health problems, and could be emotionally damaging to one’s self-esteem. The negative consequences of social media are important to discuss because the high use of it in our daily lives, however, and people need to realize these negative effects more. The easy access to social media is all around the world, and these problems can affect all of us, making it very important to discuss these issues globally. As an active user of social media, I have been exposed to all the violence in videos and in post. It is quite apparent that these negative problems with social media are not resolved often enough, resulting in fights, and deaths, including suicides and homicides.
